No Practice or Games Week of 11/24

No practice or games this week. And, we have a bye the first week of December at indoor. I'll let you know about practice next week as soon as Austin let's me know.

Everyone have a happy and safe Thanksgiving.

Collisons to Host Party

Mike and Stephanie Collison have graciously volunteered their house and time to host a party for the girls and their families on Sunday December 7th, from 4-6pm. They would like to get an idea of who and how many will attend so that they can order food. Please inform them of your familys intent at the game.

Mike has told me that they will pay for the food and drinks. They plan on having Ted's (Mexican food) cater the event. Mike did say that the women probably need to be in charge of entertainment, but offered their trampoline and basketball goal for the kids to play on. He also suggested the girls may enjoy dirty santa (however, not DIRTY santa). He told me Stephanie mentioned getting a moon bounce too, weather permitting. So those are some things to toss around.

Please let them know tonight what you think.

Important Schedule Change

Please note that our game Sunday has been changed from 11am to 1pm per Austin. Everything else remains the same. Please arrive at 12:30pm for warmup.

p.s. Our additional uniform order was received today, but Soccer USA has to have the logo applied and the Initials put on the items. They said it would be ready for pickup sometime between next Wednesday and the following Wednesday.

Thanks,

December Fees and Other Notes

It’s everyone’s favorite email… fee notifications. This month was a little different with everyone ordering different things from Soccer USA, so I did a little spread sheet that shows what you owe. Please note that we have not got our cookie dough money yet, so we will have to pay for the Winter Magic tourney out of our pockets.

Hannah Berndt - $100.39
Macy Collison - $145.39
Tess Dominic - $240.39
Halle Ginsberg - $145.39
Taylor Gross - $145.39
Laramie Hall - $104.61
Kelsie Hancock - $145.39
Madison Huelskamp - $190.39
Morgan Magee - $145.39
Jade Orange - $240.39
Hope Sanders - $100.39
Paige Serup - $145.39
Alison Van Horn - $190.39

FEES DUE by SUNDAY 11/23

A couple of other notes:

1. Next month I would like to collect $10 from each person to either buy Austin a gift (I’ll take suggestions) or give him the money as a “bonus.” This would be strictly voluntary, so keep that in mind… I would want to collect by December 15th.

2.. It has been suggested by several people that we get the girls together for a non-soccer related event next month. I was thinking a nice dinner at a country club, a party at someone’s house or a day at Sweet and Sassy… anything. I would suggest that we pay for it with our cookie dough money, which would cut into our tournament money, but I think it would be nice. Problem is I would prefer not to plan it so I am asking for volunteers. Anyway, mull it over and let’s discuss at the next few practices and games.

Please note. When calling the Springhill Suites please call between 9am and 5pm and ask for Barbara in the group sales office. Please tell them you are with the ESC 98 White Risenhoover GIRLS team (as there is a 98 boys team there too).

Thank you.

No Practice Thanksgiving Week

Per Austin, there will be no practice Thanksgiving week. So go ahead and make those plans to gorge yourself on turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, etc.

Again, no practice or games the week of November 24-30.

Winter Magic Hotel Info

Leslie Berndts friend Danelle Brudzinski has booked a block of 50 rooms for 4 different teams, including ours, at the Springhill Suites by Marriott in Overland Park, KS for the Winter Magic indoor tournament. Each room is a double queen suite and includes a hot breakfast in the morning for the price of $79.95 per night. She has asked me for some information that I need to get from each of you. Specifically who requires a room and how many are in your party. I know some of you are staying with friends, or at other hotels, or even doubling up in one room… but we need to get this information to her as soon as possible.

With that said, please respond back to me by Wednesday’s practice on what your intentions are for the tourney. Please let me know how many rooms you need and how many people will be in your party. If you are not going to stay at the hotel, please send me an email saying so. I realize things may change between now and then, just give me your best guess on your plans.

If you are going to stay at the hotel you can go ahead and book your room by calling and asking for one of the rooms reserved for the Edmond Soccer Club by Danelle Brudzinski under the name ESC 98 White Risenhoover Girls. They require a credit card for reservation, but it won’t be charged until you check out. Remember the tournament dates are January 16-19, 2009.

The contact info is as follows;
Springhill Suites by Marriott
1200 Blue Valley Parkway
Overland Park, KS 66213

Any questions let me know.
