I hope to get some free time to sit down and figure out where we are with our account over the holidays and then I will get a financial summary out to each of you at that time for the first half of the year. My accounting skills are less than stellar, but I do have a record of everything, it's just a matter of adding it all up. I will get a final number for our cookie dough earnings at that time too. We will use that money to pay for our tournaments this spring.
I have been talking to Austin about the tournaments we'd like to play in the spring and we are working those details out. I have to get some dates and information before I put it to you for a vote. However, I think we will do 1 out-of-state tourney and 2 local tourneys like we did in the Fall in addition to the Winter Magic tourney. So, more to come on that.
Thank you all very much for being paitent with me for the first half of the season. There has been a huge learning curve on most of this and I hope I haven't caused too many problems for the team. I believe the girls have had a very successful first half of the season and have had a blast playing with each other. And, that is what is really important.
I hope each of you have a safe and happy holiday.
Thanks,
Brian Hancock

Attention all players, parents and coaches, I am proud to announce the 2009 Soccer Tennis tournament dates:
Saturday, January 24 in Tulsa (10:00am - ???)
Sunday, January 25 in OKC (12:00pm - ???)>
What is Soccer Tennis???
(click the link below to watch a soccer tennis match in action!!!)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95XNvZ9pyt8 **if the link does not work, please copy and paste the address
The tournament format will be 2v2 soccer tennis matches. The court size is approximately 9 yards wide by 14 yards long (that means the net divides the court into two 9 x 7 areas). Teams can have up to (3) three players on a roster, but will only be allowed two players on the court at a time. Minimum # of games for each team is 3 games. The champion of each age group will be invited to the OSA Workshop on Saturday, February 7 to compete for the State Championship in their division! Soccer Tennis is a great way for players to work on and improve skills and movements used in soccer while having a blast!!!!
Rules of the game and tournament will be posted on the OSA web site very soon. www.oksoccer.com The application is attached. Deadline to enter is January 9, 2009
Coaches – Please talk to your players and parents about how soccer tennis is a fun way to help improve skills!
Parents – please talk to your kids and ask them if they are interested in playing! Don’t forget – you can play too! There is a division for everyone!!!
We held this event last year, and here is what some people said after the event:
“Our kids had more fun at that tournament than anything they have done... Somehow, we need to get other people up to speed on what soccer tennis is about... Huh? They don't know what their missing out on... You did a great job with it all and I HOPE to see you host this again in the near future. Great Job!!! I promise it will only get bigger and bigger because everyone I know had a great time and learned from it!!!”
“Our kids had a blast today! Thank you so much for a well-organized and fun tourney!”
“We had a blast playing in the tournament. In fact, the dads want to play next year if you have a rec open division. Great event and fun for spectors too! Thanks for the opportunity!”
“The Soccer Tennis Tournament was fantastic. This should be at least an annual event. I can guarantee that we will have more players next round. It's really cool when a good idea is completely followed through and the end result must be satisfying. The kids had a blast and so did I.”
Don’t miss out on this exciting and fun event! Please let me know if you have any further questions or if I can be of any further assistance! I hope to see all of you there!!!

Practice Schedule for the Holidays
Dear Team,
Below is a message from Austin concerning indoor practice over the holidays. It appears we will practice December 22nd, 23rd, 29th, and 30th from 10am - 11:30am. As you can see he is urging every kid be there that can. I believe there will be enough parents off work during that time that should your child need a ride to practice someone would probably be able to help you out... even Austin has volunteered his taxi services. We can talk at our next couple of games to figure that out.
I will factor the fees into our next set of dues and settle with Rasool at HatTrick with one check, so don't worry about sending your kid with money.
If for some reason you will not be able to make it please let me know.
Thanks,
Brian Hancock

Schedule Week of 12/8
There will be no practice this week per Austin. We do have an indoor game Thursday at 5:30 at Hat Trick on field 3. Have your daughter wear red, but bring the gray practice jersey just in case.
We will have some indoor practices soon in preparation for Winter Magic. Austin is going to get with Rasool (Hat Trick) this week to see when we can get some field time.
I will be collecting for Austin's Christmas gift at the game this Thursday. I was planning on giving him a visa check card gift certificate unless someone had another idea. Please give what you feel is appropriate.
Thanks,
Brian Hancock
p.s. I'd like to thank Mike and Stephanie for throwing such a nice party last night, thank you so much! I think everyone, especially the girls, had a great time.
